On 3 March 2024, the last daily unilateral explicit auction organised by SEPS will take place on the SK – UA profile for the delivery day 5 March 2024.
On 4 March 2024, the first daily bilateral explicit auction organised by the JAO Allocation Office will take place on the SK – UA profile for the delivery day 6 March 2024.
The platform for entering nominations of participants registered on the Slovak market remains the Damas Energy system (Transmission Services module SEPS).
The introduction of joint auctions means a step forward in the coordination of capacity allocation on the SK-UA profile, which will also simplify access to cross-border capacity for market participants.
The allocation of cross-border transmission capacities on a monthly basis to the SK-UA profile is currently halted. In case of any change, we will inform you in good time.

Public consultation on the draft Rules for Daily Capacity Allocation on Ukrainian Borders
In the course of Q1 2024, joint capacity allocation on the SK/UA profile is planned to be launched in the form of daily explicit auctions through the JAO S.A. auction office.
In connection with this, a public consultation on the draft Rules for Daily Capacity Allocation on Ukrainian Borders was opened on 05.09.2023 on the JAO website.

Dear business partner, due to the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine and the associated unforeseen circumstances preventing the implementation of trade exchanges on the cross-border profile SK-UA (force majeure) we would like to inform you that the values of available tradable transmission capacity (VOPK) offered by the Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s. (SEPS) to a one-sided daily auction on the SK-UA profile, will be curtailed from the trading day 12.03.2022 0:00 CET for both directions to 0 MW (VOPK or ATC = 0 MW).
Also the values of transmission capacities allocated within the unilateral monthly auction organized by SEPS for the month of March 2022 from 12.03.2022 0:00 CET to 31.03.2022 24:00 CET on the SK-UA profile will be curtailed (force majeure) to 0MW in accordance with the relevant provisions of the respective auction rules. Impact of current operating regime between transmission systems of Slovakia and Ukraine on transmission capacities offered to the unilateral auctions
Dear business partner, we would like to inform you that the tradable transmission capacity (VOPK) values offered by Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s. (SEPS) for the unilateral monthly auction for April 2022 on the SK-UA profile held 08.03.2022 will be at the level of 0 MW for both directions (ATC = 0 MW).
The ATC values offered by SEPS within the unilateral daily auctions on the SK-UA profile will be at the level of 0 MW for both directions, unless the situation after the emergency synchronisation between the synchronously operated interconnected system of continental Europe and the Ukrainian and Moldovan transmission systems allows commercial exchanges.
The values of transmission capacities allocated within the unilateral monthly auction organized by SEPS for the month of March 2022 on the SK-UA profile will be curtailed, if necessary, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the respective auction rules according to the current situation. Market participants will be duly informed of these circumstances in advance via the SEPS website and the transmission capacity holders directly in accordance with the relevant auction rules.
This situation is due to the current operating regime in which the transmission system of Ukraine, including the Burstyn Island, is not synchronously interconnected with the interconnected system of continental Europe, this results in no possibility to carry out any commercial transactions related to electricity transmission on the SK – UA profile.

Capacity curtailment
Announcement of allocated capacity curtailment
Due to the request of the Ukrainian transmission system operator NPC UKRENERGO received on March 23rd 2020 to disconnect the 400 kV transmission line Veľké Kapušany – Mukačevo, the cross-border transmission capacity on SK/UA profile will be reduced to 0 MW in following term:
- From 7.4. 2020 7:00 till 8.4. 2020 18:00 CET
Consequently cross-border transmission capacity allocated via monthly auction performed by SEPS Auction Office for April 2020 will be curtailed to 0 MW for business hours stated above.
The originally planned switch off of the V440 V.Kapušany – Mukachevo line between 15 April 2020 and 17 April 2020 is canceled. Available tradable capacity for the trading days in question will be offered in daily auctions.
In line with the Rules for the Monthly Auction of Available Tradable Transmission Capacities for 2020 at the SK-UA Transmission Border Organised Unilaterally by Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s., each auction participant whose reserved transmission capacity has been curtailed has right for compensation for each curtailed MW of the reserved transmission capacity and for each hour of the curtailment.
