The Project of Common Interest “PCI project Danube InGrid” is an international project listed on the 2nd list of Projects of Common Interest and Projects of Mutual Interest (the so-called PCI/PMI List, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2022/869 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2022 on guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure).
The partners of the PCI project Danube InGrid are Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s., E.ON Észak-dunántúli Áramhálózati Zrt., Západoslovenská distribučná, a.s., Východoslovenská distribučná, a.s., ELMŰ Hálózati Kft., and MVM Émász Áramhálózati Kft.
Government of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic has granted it the status of a significant investment and confirmed its compliance with the parameters of a strategic investment. The project completion is scheduled for June 2027.
The objective of the second wave of the Danube InGrid is to improve cross-border cooperation at the level of transmission system operator and distribution system operators in coordination of the management of the electricity system, with a focus on intelligent data collection and data exchange. The aim is to enable the connection of a large number of renewable energy producers to the electricity system and thereby ensure a high quality and security of electricity supply for consumers in the regions of eastern Slovakia and northeastern and central Hungary. The promoters of the second wave of the project are Východoslovenská distribučná, a.s., Slovenská elektrizačná prenosová sústava, a.s., ELMŰ Hálózati Kft., and MVM Émász Áramhálózati Kft.
