After several years of preparatory process, on March 4, 2024, for the business day March 6, 2024, a daily explicit auction was carried out for the first time on the SK-UA profile through the Joint Allocation Office S.A. (JAO) based in Luxembourg. This new solution will replace one-sided explicit auctions organized individually by transmission system operators SEPS and Ukrenergo and will give market participants the opportunity to purchase transmission capacity on the SK-UA profile in both directions according to the rules and standards for organizing explicit auctions within the EU. The modified process of cross-border scheduling and matching on the SK-UA profile will, as before, be realized based on nominations from market participants by transmission system operators SEPS and Ukrenergo.
