On February 18, 2025, the company bodies of SEPS  decided on the next steps in the integration processes of SEPS into the FCR Cooperation. According to the original plan, the integration of SEPS into processes on the FCR platform was planned for 2026.

Considering actual developments in the FCR Cooperation, the company bodies of SEPS has made a decision to postpone the foreseen integration of SEPS into the FCR platform to Q4/2027 at the earliest, with a further review of the accession process in Q1/2026.

The integration of SEPS into the FCR platform is conditional subject to the implementation of a new TSO-TSO settlement model in the FCR Cooperation. The new settlement model is currently in the approval process of the national regulatory authorities of the affected Member States, with a planned entry into force on 01.01.2026.

The FCR Cooperation is a joint project with voluntary operational participation of 12 transmission system operators (50Hertz, Amprion, APG, ČEPS, ELES, Elia, Energinet, RTE, SwissGrid, TenneT DE, TenneT NL and TransnetBW), which enables joint procurement of regulatory reserves with automatic frequency regulation. In addition to SEPS, MAVIR and HOPS also currently have observer status.

More information about the FCR Cooperation can be found on the Frequency Containment Reserves website.
